Death in Aghanistan - The Grapes of Kadahar - 6/24/08 The young Soviet conscript was just a teenager reaching for fresh grapes, right of the vine, when a thunderous roar from the Afghan's Enfield 303 tore through his back splattering blood and tissue all over the grapes, turning them from a light green to dark red. He had heard of the fabled "Grapes of Kandahar", a city named after Alexander the Great, and couldn't resist the temptation. (Center for Strategic Analysis members only get to read the rest)
